Teachers and Students from Multiple Macao Schools Join Forces to Promote Macao's Green Future

[Greater Bay Area Times, Macao - Reporter Li Xiang] On October 25, 2025, the inaugural "Chief Circular Officer" event and the launch ceremony of the "International Youth Sustainable Innovation and Technology Competition" were grandly held in Macao. The event was jointly organized by the China-Macao Youth Cultural Association, Macao Environmental Engineers Association, The Endeavour Environmental Education Foundation (ENEEF), and EcoBay Alliance. Under the slogan "Embrace Renewal, Compete for the Future," the event attracted enthusiastic participation from teachers and students from more than ten schools, collectively focusing on sustainable development and technological innovation.

The launch ceremony was attended by many distinguished guests, including Ms. Li Yanqi, Head of the Student Comprehensive Development Division of the Macao Education and Youth Development Bureau; Mr. Feng Jianshu, Manager of the Event Promotion Division of the Macao Investment and Development Bureau; Mr. Cheong Hung Fat, Deputy Director of the Macao Science Center; Prof. Ng Kei Piu, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Chinese Medicine at Macau University of Science and Technology; Dr. Leong Chao U, Assistant Professor; Ms. Gan Yanxia, Marketing Director of the Macao Carbon Exchange; Dr. Lei Man Tat, Assistant Professor of Environmental Science at the University of Saint Joseph; Mr. Liu Qiguang, Chairman of EcoBay Alliance; Mr. Samuel Tang, Founding President of the China-Macao Youth Cultural Association; Ms. Zhang Haiyan, Secretary-General; Mr. Un Ka Soi, Vice President of the Macao Environmental Engineers Association; Mr. Shawn Cheng, Technical Director of EcoBay Alliance; Mr. Lawrence Cheung, Project Director of The Endeavour Environmental Education Foundation (ENEEF); and Mr. Lam Kan Kei, Director of Love Recycle Plus. The event featured a launch ceremony, thematic lectures, and circular economy planting workshops, offering rich and diverse content to promote youth understanding of carbon neutrality and circular economy

The event co-organizers include the Faculty of Chinese Medicine at Macau University of Science and Technology, Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), The Chinese University of Hong Kong Institute of Chinese Medicine, Macao Carbon Exchange, and the University of Saint Joseph. Supporting organizations include the Macao Investment and Development Bureau, Macao Education and Youth Development Bureau, Macao Science Center, Macao Asia Cultural and Sports Exchange Promotion Association, Sustainable Development Association, Hong Kong Institute of Environmental Sciences, Professional Certified Trainers Association, and Certification International Limited, all providing solid support for the project.

It is hoped that this event will serve as a starting point to continuously promote youth participation in sustainable development practices, helping Macao build itself into an international "Dual Carbon City" and cultivating more outstanding talents with sustainable environmental awareness and innovative capabilities for the future.
